Getting ready.

Maley teapot show is coming up, so back into teapot making, I get really inspired by

Fong Choo, born and raised in Singapore, is deeply acculturated into contemporary American life. Having moved to the U.S. in 1983 to study business, he now teaches ceramics at Bellarmine University in Louisville. Drawing from his awareness of the Yiching* tradition, Choo brings his own sense of color, humor and form to the teapot tradition. Choo draws a distinction between innovation, originality and authenticity.

Innovation is not a concept that stirs his interest. Rather, he believes in evolving an idea into something of his own. He is more interested in “authenticity than in originality.”
