ART AWARD.

Last week I entered a sculpture into the inaugural Alan Reading Memorial Art Awards,

established by Lyn his wife in memory of Alan who passed away last year of cancer.

With proceeds to go to bloomhill cancer funds. 

 And was lucky to receive a FIRST in the mix media, whoopee...

A Piece that stands about 150 cm. high.

Made of recycled timber, oxidised iron,  horsehair raku and black fired clay.



Preserving.

Wen my grandma past away I got these bookends which I always loved.

 That is a long time ago.
 Being made of casting plaster,  they are deteriorating badly.

I couldn't let that happen now could I.
Soooo, I made replicas in clay and I must say I'm very happy with the result.
Like this they will last forever.

BACK IN TIME.

I have gone trough my pottery photo's and found these images, some pieces I did 6 years ago.

I'm glad I take photo's of the pieces I make, which takes time and effort to do but great reference for later.

One forget sometimes the things we made!

It's good to go over all these photo's and remember...

and sometimes it gets the inspiration going again, as I hope I will get on my trip and come back refreshed and ready to start.

This is  the winning piece I made for the Kenilworth Art Festival.
